gynecology is a medical specialty comprised of many sub-specialties such as obstetrics and maternal–fetal medicine, gynecology, urogynecology, endocrinology and reproductive medicine as well as gynecologic oncology and senology. Gynecologic patients deserve to and should be seen and treated as a whole such that these disciplines need to be assembled "under one roof" in any gynecological hospital. It is my duty as director of the gynecological hospital in Deggendorf and Dingolfing as part of the Donau-Isar-Klinikum to assure this holistic approach for our patients.
It is my utmost concern to take care of gynecologic and especially gynecologic oncologic as well as senologic patients at the Interdisciplinary Oncology Center (IOZ) Munich. The IOZ is located in the heart of Munich and its interdisciplinary structure allows for direct cooperation with the colleagues from hematology and oncology, naturopathy, dermato-oncology and urology. Furthermore, a close collaboration with experts from diagnostic and interventional radiology as well as pathology exists. This network allows for preventive medicine in the outpatient setting and beyond that to perform any diagnostic measure to assert diagnosis and guide treatment recommendations.
Thorough and honest information concerning cancer conveys patients an important message of survival with generally good quality of life and the possibility to "leave the disease behind".
This IOZ philosophy is my obligation and I will endeavor to apply it in your treatment.
